    Personal Development Programs

The whole of a person matters. Through all of our projects our intention is to empower people to grow in a holistic way and to take ownership for their lives and decisions. We care about people's mental health, spiritual health, physical health, relational health, and their capacity to create for themselves a hope-filled future.

Within our current projects we do this through:

Mentoring for kids: Through our Southern Cross Kids Club we connect vulnerable children and young people with mentors who walk alongside them for a twelve month journey. In these mentoring relationships young people are encouraged through fun and challenging experiences that lead them to personal growth and deeper relational connections.

Work Experience: The Seechange Op Shop is a unique opportunity for people who have experienced long-term unemployment to get back into the workforce. Through working alongside Seechange's team of staff and volunteers, people gain valuable inter-personal and professional skills in a relaxed and encouraging workplace. People learn skills in customer service, point-of-sale operation, and personal and time management in a retail environment. Through this experience was are able to provide future employers with character and skill references to assist people into their next steps toward self sufficiency through employment.

    Life Skills Programs
: Within our homeless accommodation services we teach our guests basic life skills such as:
    • Personal care and wellbeing
    • Cooking and hospitality
    • Budgeting
    • Cleaning
    • Household management and maintenance,
    • Study and employment
    • Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Goal setting
    • Emotional intelligence
    • Mental health management

      Run to Restore 2023

Over 500 people in the Sutherland Shire and Georges River region experience homelessness every night. This includes young and vulnerable women who are without a safe place to stay. This is simply not okay. Join us on May 28th, 2022 as we run and raise money to enable Jacaranda Cottage to re-open.

    • Supplying life basics

Often the simplest things make the biggest difference. For many, access to a nutritious meal, basic furniture and household items, and school supplies is a luxury that most take for granted. Kingsway Care is committed to serving the community through offering access to some of life's basic essentials.

"Platform Nine gave us the care and support we needed in a scary and uncertain time. Mum is back at work now, and I'm still studying for my exams. Life's not perfect, but we're safe and that's all this young girl and her mum could ask for." Your support will help Kingsway Care serve and support more people like Jessica and her mum.
