How We Help Personal Development Programs Personal Development Programs The whole of a person matters. Through all of our projects our intention is to empower people to grow in a holistic way and to take ownership for their lives and decisions. We care about people's mental health, spiritual health, physical health, relational health, and their capacity to create for themselves a hope-filled future. Within our current projects we do this through: Mentoring for kids: Through our Southern Cross Kids Club we connect vulnerable children and young people with mentors who walk alongside them for a twelve month journey. In these mentoring relationships young people are encouraged through fun and challenging experiences that lead them to personal growth and deeper relational connections. Work Experience: The Seechange Op Shop is a unique opportunity for people who have experienced long-term unemployment to get back into the workforce. Through working alongside Seechange's team of staff and volunteers, people gain valuable inter-personal and professional skills in a relaxed and encouraging workplace. People learn skills in customer service, point-of-sale operation, and personal and time management in a retail environment. Through this experience was are able to provide future employers with character and skill references to assist people into their next steps toward self sufficiency through employment. Life Skills Programs: Within our homeless accommodation services we teach our guests basic life skills such as: Personal care and wellbeing Cooking and hospitality Budgeting Cleaning Household management and maintenance, Study and employment Communication and interpersonal skills Goal setting Emotional intelligence Mental health management
