ABOUT US: Kingsway Community Care - Platform Nine Housing project is a faithbased organisation that was established back in 2014, recently accredited throughthe Australian service excellence standards to provide Crisis accommodation tothose experiencing homelessness. ROLE: Permanent part time 4 days per week SCHADS AWARD: Crisis Level 2.1 (subject to experience) starting from $41.52 perhour plus salary packaging benefits LOCATION: Based in the Georges River/Sutherland shire area THE ROLE:Diverse role as the first point of contact for people seeking access to homelessness and Domestic and Family violence accommodation, including crisis and transitional accommodation, case management, group work program coordination and facilitation. You will be joining a supportive and inclusive environment for both our clients and employees. RESPONSIBILITIES● Ensure that client interactions align with cultural sensitivity and adhere to trauma-informed care principles.● Conduct initial assessments following SHS Practice Guidelines, adopting a client-centered, socially inclusive, non-judgmental, and empowering approach.● Update and manage information in the Client Information System, including all administrative duties related to assessments and referrals. ● Uphold privacy and confidentiality in accordance with Kingsway Care's Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy, and relevant legislation.● Maintain a comprehensive understanding of State and Federal legislation and government policies affecting service delivery to homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness.● Foster positive relationships with external agencies involved with Kingsway Care and its clientele.● Engage in training workshops and continuous professional development opportunities. Group work responsibilities:● Coordinate logistics.● Collaborate with stakeholders.● Evaluate program effectiveness.● Facilitate group work session. YOU WILL NEED● According to Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), Kingsway Care recognizes that being a woman is a legitimate requirement for this role.● Possession of at least a Cert. IV in Community Services or higher qualifications in a relevant discipline, along with relevant experience in the homelessness/DFV sector.● Proven track record in providing culturally sensitive support to individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, as well as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, incorporating trauma-informed care practices.● Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the capacity to engage positively with a diverse range of individuals.● Demonstrated capability to collaborate within a team environment and to work autonomously and without direct supervision.● Thorough understanding and ability to access various community resources, particularly in areas such as AOD services, mental health, legal aid, income support, employment services, training, accommodation, family support, and permanent housing options, as well as immigration services.● Familiarity with contemporary domestic violence practices, including an understanding of the gendered nature of violence.● Experience in trauma-informed care.● Proficiency in using client databases and Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.● Understanding of therapeutic group work programs and delivery.● Ability to create long-term partnerships with group work facilitators.● Understanding of evaluation methodology. Essential: ● Unrestricted NSW driver's license and confidence in driving within the Southeast Sydney area.● WWCC clearance● Police Check.
