About Us Our Impact Our Impact Through the projects and partnerships of Kingsway Care we are providing care and support for thousands of families each year. Our work in supporting survivors of domestic violence, mentoring children and youth, and meeting practical needs is restoring lives, families, and communities. Impact on homelessness: Our accommodation services assist hundreds of women, men, and children each year. Through Platform Nine and Jacaranda Cottage we have housed and supported 218 guests over the last financial year, including: 137 females, 36 children, and 80 males With the highest rate of success in NSW for rehousing people into independent living, Kingsway Care is having a remarkable impact on homelessness in the Sutherland Shire and Sydney East region. With this success many guests have experienced improved living conditions, gained new life skills and found hope for their future. Kingsway Care is now South Eastern Sydney's leading provider of adult Temporary and Crisis Housing, and in partnership with St Vincent De Paul we are the ONLY after-hours emergency Domestic and Family Violence accommodation service in the region. Impact on Children and Youth Since 2015, Southern Cross Kids Club has impacted the lives of over 120 children who have experienced trauma throughout their lives. The impact on these children, their families, and carers is difficult to quantify. However, the stories of change that we hear, the friendships that are made, and the connections between children and caring adults is evidence enough to suggest this program is rewriting the future for many kids. Not only do we see positive changes in the children we serve, the 60 adult volunteers involved with kids club and camp are powerfully impacted through the lives, stories and connections shared with the kids. Impact through Practical Help The basics of life include more than food, clothing and shelter. While we do provide these we also provide members of our local community with love, a listening ear, a cuppa and a chat. Our Op Shop in Jannali plays a significant role within the local community. We resource people with clothing, books, housewares, and other essentials. Beyond the practical, the shop is a community where: We train volunteers and teach them valuable skills Clients in our accommodation services can volunteer Many locals come in for a cuppa and a chat We also provide: Christmas hampers to families in need, Community events to help bring people together, and Monthly Community Dinners.
